Shona Taylor is an artist and illustrator based in the San Francisco Bay area. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and moved to the East Bay Area in California at the age of 7 with her family.

At 14 she got her first job at Clay’s Comics, a local comic shop in Hayward, CA where she worked for 3 years. There, Shona was exposed to comics, manga, anime, graphic novels and zines. Through the comic shop she met artists and illustrators like Charles Vess, Paul Pope & Jhonen Vasquez at in-store signings as well as conventions and became enamored with the DIY aesthetic of the independent comic culture. Her art is inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau, 80’s nostalgia, comics, books, nature, music, movies and pop culture. She spends her free time obsessing about Dragon Age lore, loves hanging out with her friends, trips to the local beach, trying out new recipes and going to concerts, seeing live comedy and drag shows.

Shona has attended photography and art classes at Chabot College in Hayward, CA and lives in Alameda with her sweet and courageous, blind, three-legged dog, Hannah.
